Bill and Ced's Excellent Photosynthesis Adventure
Chloroplast | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
This property was reserved by Bill and Cedric This is a picture of a chloroplast. The light is captured by these little ladder like structure which is called thylakoids. The sunlight is turned into a simple sugar called glucose. Plants use glucose to grow and breathe, which is called Respiration.
Mitochondrion | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
. This is a nice picture, isn't it? This is the mitochondrion, the membranes inside are called cristae, and this is where electrons are transported. Also this is where most ATP's are made. The fluid surrounding, the matrix, is the site of Krebs' cycle enzymes and activities.
What is the source of all energy?
The SUNLIGHT! Sunlight is the ultimate source of energy. Plants use photosynthesis to harness the suns light so they can create food. The process of Respiration uses glucose to create energy, glucose comes from photosynthesis and is made from the suns light. Decomposition is connected to respiration which is conneceted to photosynthesis which uses the suns light. | Energy in photosynthesis is in the form of the suns light and glucose, respiration energy is glucose and ATP, and in decomposition energy is is in the form of the bacteria breaking down the waste.
